Methodology
RacketStack reviews are hands-on. We test every platform, brand, and tool we publish before it gets a score — no exceptions. This page explains how we work so operators can trust what they read.
The four-week test
Every software listing on RacketStack goes through a four-week structured test before being scored. We run each platform against simulated operator workflows: new-member onboarding, multi-court booking, Americano scheduling, payment reconciliation, coaching-slot allocation, and customer-support response times. For court-construction and surface-supplier listings, the methodology shifts: we analyze published specs, source operator references, review installed-project photos, and conduct site visits where available. For media and newsletter listings, we read at least ten recent issues to evaluate cadence, editorial quality, and operator relevance.
The six-criterion score
Every published review carries a 0–100 overall score derived from six weighted criteria. Sport-Specific Fit is weighted at 30%; the other five criteria are weighted at 14% each.
For software and apps:
- Sport-Specific Fit (30%)
- Ease of Use (14%)
- Feature Depth (14%)
- Pricing Value (14%)
- Customer Support (14%)
- Integration Ecosystem (14%)
For court construction and surface suppliers:
- Sport-Specific Fit (30%)
- Project Support (14%)
- Build Quality & Materials (14%)
- Cost per Court (14%)
- Aftercare & Warranty (14%)
- Range & Customization (14%)
For media and newsletters:
- Operator Relevance (30%, the Sport-Specific Fit equivalent)
- Cadence (14%)
- Editorial Quality (14%)
- Audience Reach (14%)
- Multimedia (14%)
- Independence (14%)
The labels change but the underlying weighting is consistent. Sport-Specific Fit always carries the highest weight because a platform that works brilliantly for tennis but poorly for padel scores differently for each sport. That's why our scores are per-sport, not single — a multi-sport listing like Playtomic can have a padel score of 88 and a tennis score of 69 on the same page.
The 90-day refresh cycle
Every listing is re-verified at least every 90 days. We check whether features have changed, pricing has shifted, the company is still active, and whether our review still reflects current product reality. Listings that fail re-verification get marked stale and either re-reviewed or archived. Every listing page carries a visible "Last hands-on review" timestamp so you can see when the review was last validated.
What "Hands-on review coming soon" means
When you see a listing without a score and a "Hands-on review coming soon" badge, the listing exists in our directory as structured metadata (name, category, sports served, features, website) but has not yet been hands-on tested. We publish those listings unscored rather than fabricate scores. They sort to the bottom of category rankings until a real review is completed. As the editorial team works through the queue, these stubs are converted into fully reviewed listings.
Who reviews
Reviews are produced by The Stack Team — a collective of competitive padel, pickleball, and tennis players, former club managers, and product evaluators. Every published review has a named author or the collective byline and a verifiable hands-on testing record. The team in aggregate brings: 15+ years of combined padel competitive play, three former club-management operators, two coaching-certified trainers, and software-evaluation experience across both consumer and enterprise B2B platforms.
Sister-property handling
RacketStack is operated by the same team that runs PadelLocos, Rallyo, and padeltrainer.ai. Reviews of those products on RacketStack are cross-validated by an independent outside reviewer before publication. The owned-property disclosure appears prominently on each affected listing and review page. We do not give favorable scores to our own products — and if any of them score lower than competitors on a given criterion, we publish that as-is. See our Disclosure page for the full ownership statement.
Editorial independence
No vendor pays for editorial coverage. No advertiser influences our scoring. Sponsored placements are clearly badged and separated from the organic ranking — see Editorial Policy for the full separation rules.
